Bridesmaids always want to get involved with their own styling, so if you are paying for the accessories, set them a budget — that way you can let the girls look, knowing that they won’t go over the top.
Many jewellery and accessory designers make ranges that have bridesmaids versions — often smaller, coloured variations of the same design. These make a lovely uniform touch and ensure that everyone looks good together. Great if your bridesmaids live far away and you can’t get together to go shopping.
Letting your bridesmaids wear different jewellery to one another can be a really nice touch, and it lets them have their own style — come up with a brief (colour/theme etc), and then send them off to find their own look. Just make sure they run their ideas by you before they buy.
If you’ve got a tight budget, you can give your bridesmaids their jewellery as a gift on the morning of the wedding (this is good if you don’t want them to choose their own jewellery too — as they won’t get it see it until the big day!).
Remember that it’s your day and your chance to shine above all — so if you need to, play the ‘It’s my day' card — that should solve any quarrels!
