Love on the lakes

22nd August 2009 – on Lake Maggiore, Italy in a beautiful private villa

 
Ellis and Sheralyn got married in Italy overlooking the stunning Lake Maggiore in Northern Italy. “We chose a lovely 19th Century Villa to have the ceremony and reception at,” says Sheralyn. “We flew out to Italy eight months before the wedding to view potential venues, and this was the first place that we went to see. It was perfect!”

 

 

The couple had 58 guests who all flew out to Italy for the event. “Our wedding planner, Laura from Varese Wedding, worked with me for 18 months before the wedding to help put it all together. The style that we wanted was elegant and classy – a fairytale wedding. I chose the colour scheme to be copper orange as the bridesmaids dresses (from Forever Yours) that I fell in love with were copper so we worked around that.” Sheralyn wore a beautiful dress by Spanish designer Pronovias, with a lace veil.
 

The ceremony

The couple got married in the gardens of the villa, with rose petals scattered down the aisle and a beautiful floral arch with white roses and greenery. “I had seen a picture of the arch in a magazine and sent it to Laura to show her what I wanted. We exchanged vows under the arch with two violinists and a harpist playing in the background.”

 

 

The reception

After the ceremony, the couple had canapés and champagne in the gardens with their guests. “We had music gently playing during the meal in the background, then at 8.30pm a DJ arrived and the lights went low and we had party music and an open bar all evening for all the guests. The reception ended at 1am.”
